How much does a concrete sidewalk cost?
Walkways are priced by the square foot with a minimum for small jobs, since the crew and the truck cost the same whether the pour is big or small. Width, thickness, removal of the old walk, base work and the finish all move the price. Give us the length and width and we'll quote it, or bundle it with a driveway or patio for a better overall number.
How wide should a front walkway be?
Three feet is the practical minimum for a residential walk; four feet lets two people walk side by side and looks better in proportion to most houses. Public sidewalks have required minimum widths under the county code and ADA.
My walkway lifted from tree roots. Can you fix it?
Usually we replace the affected sections. Depending on the tree and the root, we may be able to reroute the walk slightly or bridge the root so the new concrete isn't lifted again. We'll look at it and tell you the options.
