Patios and pool decks are the concrete you actually live on, so they have to do more than hold weight. They have to drain away from the house and the pool, they have to be safe to walk on wet, they should stay as cool as concrete can in July, and they should look good next to the house for twenty years. We pour new patios and extend existing ones, we extend lanai slabs to enlarge a screened enclosure, and we pour pool decks around new and existing pools, working with the pool builder on elevations and the enclosure company on the footing for the cage. Finishes range from a clean broom texture to stamped patterns that read as flagstone, slate or wood plank, integral color, and exposed aggregate. A light color and a textured finish are the two easiest ways to keep a deck cooler and safer.
