A concrete driveway in Central Florida fails for one of two reasons: the base under it wasn't compacted, or the slab was poured too thin with no steel in it. Both are invisible the day it's finished and obvious five years later, when the edges crumble and a crack runs corner to corner where the car turns in. Most of the driveway replacements we do in Ocala are replacing exactly that kind of work.
Ours start with the ground. We remove the old driveway or strip the sod, grade for drainage away from the house, and compact a proper base. Then we form to the layout you want, set reinforcement, and pour at a thickness that suits what will park on it, thicker where a truck, RV or trailer will sit. Control joints get cut where the slab wants to crack anyway, so when it does, it cracks where you can't see it. A standard finish is a clean broom texture with tooled edges. If you want more, we do exposed aggregate, colored concrete and stamped patterns too.
We build new driveways for new construction and for gravel or shell drives that have never been paved, we widen existing driveways for a second vehicle or a boat, and we replace driveways that have cracked, heaved or sunk past the point of repair. If your driveway just has one bad section, we'll tell you that a repair is the smarter call. We'd rather do the right job than the bigger one.

How much does a concrete driveway cost in Ocala?
Driveways are priced by the square foot, and the number depends on the size, the thickness, whether the old driveway has to come out, how much base work the ground needs, and the finish. A plain broom finish is the most economical; stamped or colored work costs more. We measure on site and give you a firm written price. How thick should a concrete driveway be?
Four inches is standard for cars. If you park a work truck, a boat trailer or an RV on it, we pour it thicker and reinforce it accordingly. Getting this wrong is the main reason driveways crack under trucks.
How long before I can drive on a new driveway?
Keep vehicles off it for about a week; foot traffic is fine after a day or two. Concrete keeps gaining strength for weeks, so the longer you wait before parking something heavy on it, the better.
Can you replace just part of my driveway?
Yes. If one section has sunk or cracked and the rest is sound, we can cut out and replace that section. We match the finish as closely as new concrete allows. We'll be honest if the whole thing is past saving.
