What finish should I use for a pool deck?
A broom finish or a textured stamped finish, so it's not slick when wet. A light color helps keep it cooler underfoot in the summer sun. A smooth trowel finish around a pool is a slip hazard and we won't recommend it.
How much more does stamped concrete cost than plain?
Stamped and colored work costs more per square foot than a broom finish because of the materials, the extra labor and the timing involved. It's still typically less than pavers or natural stone installed, with far less maintenance. We'll price both ways so you can compare.
Can you finish concrete someone else pours?

Why does new concrete need to be cured?
Concrete gains strength by keeping water in the mix while it hardens. If the surface dries out too fast, which happens in about an hour in a Florida summer, the top layer stays weak and dusty and cracks more. We cure every slab, because it's the cheapest insurance there is.
